To answer the question, yes recruiting people does in fact give you points towards promotion. There are two ways to get promoted in the clan. The standard reason for promotion is to just be eligible for promotion. You become eligible for promotion when you have been at your current rank for the proper amount of time (One month from Pvt-PFC, Two months from PFC-LCpl, Three months from LCpl to Cpl, and so on.) and have the needed amount of points for promotion. You gain these points when you play with the clan, recruit new members, or do anything extra for the clan. The second way to become promoted is to be meritoriously promoted. You can get meritoriously promoted for showing the responsibilities needed for the next rank. For example, you might be meritoriously promoted if you take command of the surviving members of your team when the Commanding player dies. Spoken very... eloquently, corporal. Good job - you beat me to the punch. Everything that Corporal Knappenberger mentioned is true and also, if you recruit two people into the clan and they graduate from clan boot camp, you will receive a Recruitment Ribbon.

Ok. So all I need to do is recruit one more person and have them go through boot.

Yes Private, if you have already recruited someone and the have made it through boot camp, then you only need one more recruitment ad you will be awarded with a Recruitment Ribbon to go on your Service Record.
